Jim Denaro - Event Report With the car back together, engine fresh of the Dyno, more stall in the converter and some oil system breathing issues sorted. I still have some problems with the data logger and I needed to test some things on the car to make sure everything is working correctly. The original date for the Test n Tune was for Saturday the 6th February but rained intervened and the event was re-scheduled for Wednesday the 10th of February.

We got to the track mid afternoon and it was scorching hot. I had my first pass at 3:05pm it ran 10.132 @ 133.29mph, it felt a little lazy and the shift didn't feel right. Back in the pits, we changed the shift chip and raised the timing 2 degrees and then we went out for our second pass at 4:00pm. The car felt a little better and we ran 10.091 @ 133.67. I put another 2 degrees of timing back into the engine then went back out for another pass. 5:21pm we ran 9.954 @ 134.44. which put a smile on all of our faces. Considering the air was around 3,000 feet and the track not having its usual bite. We played around with the tyre pressures for the next pass and at 6:10pm we had another pass. This time the car ran 9.893 @ 136.83, we decided that we back up the pass in the other lane and this time we ran 9.896 @ 135.44 all good.

We decided that we would change the launch rpm chip and see what the car would do. We ran 9.895 which pleased us all . The last 3 runs only had .003 difference. Our last pass for the night was at 9:18pm, we put a little more air in the rear tyres and it netted the quickest 60ft for the car so far. We ran 9.874 @ 136.87. With the day being a complete success, we packed up and went home to study all the video footage. Thanks to Tim, Cassandra and Dylan for a long and tiring day in the heat.
