Since our last visit to the drag strip, the converter was completely destroyed and most of the converter went through the transmission.
A new converter was ordered from A1 in Canada and was shipped to Protrans Performance Automatics within 10 days. This would be the first converter that would be matched to my engine combination, so happy days ahead. With Fred weaving his magic with my transmission and supplying a new Reactor Flexplate, we were ready to hit the track.
Once at the track and all the fluid levels checked, we checked tha stall on the new A1 Converter. This was different to anything that I have ever had before and it put a smile on all our faces. Our first pass put us straight back to were we should be in the mid 8.5's, our sixty foot times were back, and the 4 passes in which we had on the night repeated themselves perfectly, some good lights .004 - .017 and a .000 said our combination was finally back on track.
The only draw back on the night was that my electric fuel pump was again playing up, so we will take the dragster back home and have a look at what the problem is.
Thanks to Jimmy and Dylan for there help in pulling the trans in and out and to Fred at Protrans Performance Automatics for his prompt service with my transmission and converter.
