Jim Denaro - Meeting Report We arrived at the track nursing the Falcons transmission as it copped a bit of a hiding coming home from Queensland. With everything set up and ready to go, I head to the staging lanes ready for our first qualifier at 9:46 am. I ran 9.831 @ 135.69. After having issues with my line lock in Queensland, I thought that I had it sorted out before today's event. Obviously not. I would have to race without it. Second and final qualifier was at 12:15 pm I ran 9.817 @ 135.74 which put us in good shape for our first round of eliminations.

Rnd 1- 2:00 pm I was up against Steve Stevemure in his nitrous powered LJ Torana, Steve dialed in 8.85 to my 9.80, I got the holeshot with a .017 to .044 and that being enough to take the stripe and move into round 2. Rnd 2- 3:37 pm I was up against Manios from Big H racing in the Phantom Falcon, who dialed 10.51 to my 9.80. I would have to use every bit of that dial as I got beat on the tree, a .007 to my .060. I ran dead on my dial in backing off. Rnd 3 - 5:24 pm I was up against Con Galatis in his Big Block powered LH Torana Hatchback who dialed in 8.67 to my 9.79. I left with a .003 while Con left a cherry on the tree, I saw the win light straight away and drove the Cortina all the way through the stripe. To advance to the quarter Finals. Rnd 4 - 6:10 pm I race against another car from the Big H stable a TE Cortina, who dialed 9.85 to my 9.75. He left with an .014 advantage and took the stripe with a .008 margin of victory.
