Saturday. We were on track for our first qualifier at 11:46am, I had Tim’s carby on and it felt ok just a bit messier up top running 10.04 @ 132.41 so we put my carby back on for the second qualifier which was at 3:15pm, it ran cleaner but a little off to 60ft running 10.05 @ 133.22. I left it for the third qualifier and it ran 10.05 @ 133.51 at 6:00pm. That was it for the day.

Sunday. Our last qualifier was at 9:59am and with no changes to the car it ran 10.01 @ 133.59, we were ready for the first round. In round one I was against Con Christian in his Capri dialing 9.56 to my 10.00, I left with a .005 advantage and held it for the win with us both running .004 over our dial ins, close. In round two I was up against Chris Stevemure in his Torana and he was keen to get one back and he started well beating me on the tree but went to quick running 8.98 on his 9.01 dial to my safe 10.01 on my 10.00 dial. Quarter final time and I ran Mario Polito in his xy falcon, I lost it on the start line with the car rocking in a bit as I went on the transbrake, I went .030 red wasting a near perfect 10.002 on my 10.00 dial, to make it worse he cut a .126 light and broke out.
