Our third qualifier was Saturday morning at 11.35am and the air
was worse running 9.987 @ 134.31, so we would just check data,
fuel up and head back into the lanes, the 4th and 5th
qualifiers were 9.986 and 9.988,
so we were confident going into round one where we would face
Hakan Arif in his Falcon, I ran 9.985 on my 9.98 dial for the
win to his 10.023 on his 9.65 dial. Round two saw us up against
Greg Fowler in the S-10 Ute, he got the advantage of the line by
.003 and ran 8.837
on his 8.83 dial for the win to my losing 10.029 on my 9.98
dial, he went on to win the meet. I have scored
enough points in the track championship
which has
put me in third position.
but am going to have to go further in these race meets to make a
move for the top spot.
Thanks to all my crew and supporters, it’s been fun.
