Leading into this meeting I removed the 16 volt booster and replaced it with a msd ignition filter aswell as having to replace both tubes in the slicks due to numerous pieces of steel and wire causing punctures.

The first qualifier was a waste of time as I tried to get the MSD digital to shift the gears but as with previous attempts it went straight into top at launch.

The second qualifier was at 5:01 pm and it ran 9.919 @ 134.82, afterwhich I went back to the pits and adjusted the timming and headed back into the lanes for the last qualifier.

Last qualifier was at 6.10 pm in which the car did  it’s best 60ft time in quite a while, running 9.851@ 135.93, we were ready for the first round.

Round 1 was at 7.22pm and I was to race Kit Hunter in his VL Commodore who dialled in at 8.70 to my 9.85, I left with a -022 reaction time and ran through at 9.851 for the win. Forcing Kit to break out in an attempt to catch me.

As it turned out my opponent for round 2 had broken and could not make it, so I was to have a solo run into the quarter finals. Whilst waiting for my run unfortunately the weather stopped proceedings.
