Tim Nielsen / Geoff Wright - Meeting Report
After looking at video footage from the last Test n Tune, the slicks seem to be the biggest issue. Stiff sidewall for a lightweight dragster, they have to go. We were going to take the softwall Hooziers off my dragster and give them a go, but 2 days before this event, Andrew Musgrave offered us the use of a set of 2070 Goodyear slicks. Dragster Tyres, It will hook now.
Geoff also put a PrimerPlus system on the engine, this will help with clean starts and is ideal for warming up the engine quicker.
We got to the track early so we could set the PrimerPlus up and it worked great, we were able to get good engine temp very quickly, without using 10ltrs of Methanol.
Run 1:
10:44am lets see how the Goodyears go. 7.667 @ 174.46, that is how the Goodyears go. PB all round, we would leave the tune up alone and only adjust the tyre pressure.
Run 2:
1:29pm we ran 7.688 @ 174.57  that was a good back up pass, but still we need to work with the tyre pressures.
Run 3:
3:11pm. We decided that we would put a colder set of plugs in the engine and adjust the tyre pressures again. When the engine was bought up on the launch control it didn't quite seem right, but we still ran 7.687 @ 173.12, and sounded a little fluttery in the top end. It was decided that we would put the hotter plugs back in and make a pill change for the next run.
Run 4:
We had organised for this pass to have a paired pass with Jim in his Cortina, both Shiredragracing cars going down the track, should make for a good photo.
We adjusted the tyre pressure once again and ran a PB 7.656 @ 174.03
Run 5:
Our last pass for the day was at 6:07pm again up against Jim, We both got held up on the startline after our burnouts as there was some oil / water in the braking area in which needed to be cleaned up. If it wasn't for our little staging duel we both would of headed straight into it. LUCKY.
Doing only a short burnout as the engine was getting a little warm, we ran 7.684 @ 173.47.
A great day of testing with the dragster acheiving new levels and being consistant. Bring on the Nationals.
Thanks again to our crew, Rod Perkins, Cassandra Richardson and Cheyenne.

Jim Denaro - Meeting Report
This would be the perfect opportunity to fine tune and get ready for the Nationals. For the first pass I left the car as it was last meet and just lowered the tyre pressure a bit, it ran 9.769 @136.81, the quickest this combo has gone, not bad. I left it alone for the second pass and ran 9.777 @ 136.75, nice. After checking the plugs I decided to change the timing curve and head out for another pass which netted a 9.783 @ 137.04, it seemed we were chasing the conditions so I made another slight adjustment.

For this run I switched lanes and would run along side Tim in Geoff’s dragster and doesn’t it haul ass making my 9.771 @ 135.54 feel pretty average. For our last pass we paired up again and I thought I had better tune my delay box to try and save a little face, after a bit of a delay and having to do a second burnout (not knowing exactly were the tyre pressure would be) we headed into stage had a little duel and were off running 9.785 @ 135.09 to finish the night off, very cool. That was a pretty good day at the track and we should be ready for the Nationals….

Thanks all involved …CHEERS.
