JIM DENARO -
Meeting Report
After warming up the car, we headed out for our
first qualifier at 10:45am. I was ready for my
first paired pass in the new car. After a strong
burnout, I headed for the line. On launch the
shifter went straight into top gear which didn't
please me at all. The ET wasn't that good, so
that was a wasted pass.
Our second qualifier was at 1:23pm. This time it
felt like the linelock wasn't working properly
as the car kept creeping while I was in the
burnout box. The burnout was pretty ordinary,
but I eventually got to the line. This time the
car did what it was supposed to do, with me
manually shifting, this would be the quickest
pass in which I have had. It ran 10.136 @ 137.51
mph, which put a smile on my face. |

With the 2
qualifiers out of the way, it was time to put a
dial in on the car. I decided that I would put
10.00 flat on the car. Either way I was in a win
- win situation with the dial in. If I break out
I will be happy. The linelock seemed to be
working OK this time. I proceeded with a big
burnout and got some good heat into the tyres. I
slowly brought the car into stage, the top light
came on the car hooked up really good and I saw
red, minus .027. The car ran 10.127 @ 135.58 and
I pulled the chute for the first time to see
what it felt like, and all was good.

TIM NIELSEN -
Meeting Report
It's been almost 2 months since I last had a
run. We arrived at the track hoping that the
weather would be kind to us. I left the dragster
at home for the last Bracket Attack as I was
sure that it would of been cancelled due to
rain. This time I took the dragster and the rain
stayed away, you work it out. With the dragster
warmed up and the exhaust leaks fixt from the
Australian Nationals, it was all systems go.
Our first qualifying pass was at 12:10pm and we
ran 8.679 with the 60ft time being a little
down, while the second halft of the track the
engine seemed a little rich, we decided to leave
the tune and adjust the dial in for the day. Our
second qualifying pas was at 1:59pm, our 60ft
time was the same, with the dragster running
8.650, so we were looking good for the first
round. |

First round saw us
paired up against Brendon Luke in his Lucky 777 Altered,
I dialed 8.63, while Brendon dialed 7.97. This race was
won th the tree, I left with a .026 light to Brendon's
.169, I rolled off the throttle at the stripe to take
the win running 8.65 on my 8.63 dial in.
There were a few bad incidents at the track later on in
the day and before we could run our second round, the
track decided to cancel the meeting. |
